Ecological & Commercial Importance
- • Wood is used for low-grade timber and making paper.
- • The fragrant orange flowers attract Honeybees.
- • The tree is grown along avenues, roadsides and villages for shade.
- • Kadamba flowers are an important raw material in the production of ‘attar’.
Medicinal Properties
- • Its stem bark is antiseptic and astringent, used to relieve coughs.
- • In folk medicine, it is used to treat anemia and uterine problems and to improve semen quality.
- • It is also used in the treatment of various ailments such as fever, uterine complaints, blood diseases, skin diseases, tumour, anaemia, eye inflammation and diarrhoea.
